BRICKrhetoric is currently seeking submissions for their One Act Play Anthology.

  • 10 – 20 pages
  • The play should deal with an environmental issue such as population, climate change, loss of biodiversity, water, waste, pollution, food, land use, public health, or endangered plants and animals.
  • Welcomes submissions from writers of all ages.

Canvas Literary Journal is currently seeking submissions in fiction, poetry, plays, nonfiction, new media, cross genre, and art.

  • Copyright reverts back to author after publication, so you retain rights over your work.
  • Seeking writers ages 13-18
  • Published in print, ebook, and web formats

Parallel Ink is currently seeking submissions in poetry, fiction, and nonfiction.

  • You can submit writing any time.
  • Accept submissions from young writers ages 12-18 around the world.
  • Submissions accepted in English, Thai, and Korean.
  • Open to all kinds of genres.

In Our Area

Young Authors Academy is currently offering classes on fiction and poetry for young writers in grades 6-12

  • Tuition for YAA is free for students in the Syracuse City School District and for YMCA of Greater Syracuse members.
  • 12:00-2:00p.m. Saturdays at the Downtown YMCA
  • Return the registration form before October 1st to enroll in the Fall semester
